Microsoft offers jobs to OpenAI employees after CEO sacked

Microsoft claims it has offered jobs to employees who work for OpenAI after the company's chief executive was sacked.

Microsoft has already offered the sacked CEO Sam Altman a new job to lead a new advanced artificial intelligence research team.

More than 700 staff members at OpenAI, best known for the ChatGPT chatbot, have signed a letter stating they will resign unless Mr Altman is reinstated.

The letter also claims Microsoft offered to match the pay of those employees if they decided to make the switch.

Former Facebook Australia NZ chief executive Stephen Scheeler joined Sky News Australia to discuss the ramifications and backlash over OpenAI’s decision.
