Sohla being the most qualified chef at Bon Appetit
Recently Sohla revealed that she was hired at BA making $50,000 a year and her job description was mostly to test recipes from mainly white editors with far less experience than her. She was not paid for video appearances like her white colleagues and was frequently asked to appear in videos or be in the background to give the appearance of diversity at BA. She has 15 years of experience and, as this video shows, is frequently asked to help her higher paid colleagues with tasks ranging from tempering chocolate to pronouncing turmeric.
