This drop followed a slight increase in US inflation figures for February, sparking concerns that the US Federal Reserve might delay rate cuts beyond June. The Nifty 50 began the day at 22,432.20, lower than its previous close of 22,335.70, and plummeted by 1.9% to reach an intraday low of 21,905.65. Ultimately, the index concluded the day with a loss of 338 points, or 1.51%, closing at 21,997.70.
Ravichandran Ashwin, the off spinner from India, reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the men's Test bowling rankings for the sixth time, following his exceptional nine-wicket performance in the fifth Test against England held in Dharamsala. Meanwhile, Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood achieved his personal best ranking at No. 2, tying with Jasprit Bumrah, after clinching six crucial wickets in the Test victory against New Zealand in Christchurch. Furthermore, Kuldeep Yadav, India's left-arm wrist spinner, made a significant leap of 15 positions to reach a career-high ranking of 16th, courtesy of his impressive seven-wicket haul in the Dharamsala Test.
