Mixing with acapellas and beats.

In this case it was about the timing needed to mix with acapellas (vocal tracks without music) because the viewer noticed that a lot of acapellas don't start on the one count and this is true.

I was very exited when i saw the question because this is something that has been bothering me for years. I've heard so many DJ's do this wrong and mess up the flow of an acapella by mixing it in at the wrong count.

There a couple of things you need to think about when mixing acapellas into beats.

- Make sure that the acapella is playing at the same tempo as the instrumental you want to use. Do this by matching the tempo of the new beat to the acapella's original track.

- Make sure you know the song! If you know the song then you know how the vocals should sound/flow over the beat. This is essential to get right!

- And, of course, to get the vocals right you have to start the vocals on the right count. If you can't do it by feeling, just listen to the original track and count to see when the vocals start.
