Dominican Style Arepitas de Maiz | Cornmeal Fritters | Chef Zee Cooks

These Dominican Style Arepitas de Maiz are easy to make! It's a great breakfast or even brunch dish because it goes great with coffee! These cornmeal fritters are a classic and they remind me so much of my grandmother. The warm milk, sugar, salt, and anise seeds really come together to create an arepitas that's delicious. The best part is that you can make these arepitas the very same day and enjoy them while they're warm. The trick is to cook them low and slow so that they cook throughout. Ingredients
2 cups Cornmeal
1 ¼ cup Evaporated Milk
⅓ cup Sugar
½ tsp Anise
2 Eggs
½ tsp Salt
Oil for Frying
1 tbsp Butter
