Coaches are not just repositories of technical knowledge. They’re seasoned athletes who have shared the experiences of their students. They’ve been hurt, they’ve healed, and they know what it feels like to get up early for a hard training day. They solve problems by speaking with their athletes and they strive to share their experience and knowledge in a way that sticks, a way that encourages trainees to keep showing up.
