Fernet Con Coca, The Taste of Argentina! | How to Drink

Today I travel to South America to try various configurations of Fernet Con Coca, the National Drink of Argentina!

Fernet Con Coca, or Fernandito is the national drink of Argentina. While Fernet has been hugely popular in Argentina since coming over from Italy with a huge wave of immigration in the first years of the turn of the 20th century, it remained a largely buttoned up after dinner affair until sometime in the 1970's when Fernet was first mixed with Coca Cola in Cordoba Province. After remaining something of a College Town night life staple for a couple of decades, Branca (the owner of Fernet Branca) took notice and investigated. Discovering the local phenomena Branca turned out a massive ad campaign celebrating the combination of Fernet and Coca Cola and turned it into a nationwide sensation. Argentina now consumes 75% of ALL Fernet Branca globally.
