Ford 5.4 2V Water Pump Replacement

In this episode of our build series on a Ford 5.4 liter 2 valve motor, we'll be replacing the water pump, tube assembly, and then installing the heater return tube. In this video, I'll be showing you how to replace the water pump on a Ford 5.4 liter motor. The Motorcraft part number for the water pump is PW423. I'll also be replacing the tube assembly that comes out of the back of the pump with part number F75Z-855-AA. Additionally, I'll install the heater return tube that connects at the back of the pump, runs under the intake manifold to the back of the right-hand head. The part number for the heater return tube is F85Z-18663-BA. You'll learn valuable tips and tricks along the way, including how to properly torque the bolts and ensure a good seal on your new water pump.

This video is part 9 of a build series I'm doing with my son on a Ford 5.4 liter 2 valve motor for his first truck. If you've been following along, you know that we've been working our way through a semi rebuild of this engine, and the water pump replacement is one of our steps.

In this video, we'll walk you through each step we took during the installation process. We'll also give you some tips and tricks to make the job go smoothly and quickly that helped us.
