This video goes over how to replace a Purge Valve on a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.7 motor. This should be the same process for any 2012 -2021 (Fourth Generation) Jeep Grand Cherokee. This vehicle had a check engine light with a PO443 code and the symptoms were erratic idle and difficulty starting after the vehicle had been filled at a gas station. The purge valve is part of the EVAP system which all cars have had since the 70’s. The fuel vapors are stored in the storage canister and once the vehicle is up to normal operating temperature, the PCM then opens the purge valve, allowing the fuel vapors to be burned by the motor which in turn helps to reduce air pollution. Other possibilities of a PO443 are bad PCM, bad wiring, fuel cap or fuel tank pressure sensor.
