Best hotel in the world!

A 3 day Wild Camp & landscape photography trip in the stunning Lake District. Camping in a cave, mountain tarns, and huge caverns were just some of the awesome places we visited and camped.

We started out from Patterdale & Ullswater and headed up to Red Tarn near the summit of Helvellyn where we wild camped in our British army bivi bags under the DD 3x3 tarp tent, heading Eastwards the next day up Swirrel Edge, Helvellyn and past Striding Edge, towards Dollywaggon, passing hard tarn along the way before descending down to Grisedale Tarn.

After a short wild campers lunch break we headed up Fairfield, along to Hart Crag, Dove Crag and down into Dovedales. We then discovered the Priests Hole Cave and decided a cave camp would be a wise decision!

The following day we headed down Dovedale, past Brothers water and back into Patterdale, back to the car.

We then drove up Kirkstone pass, through Ambleside, past Windermere and to Tilberthwaite, where we ditched the car and hiked the couple of miles to Cathedral Quarry Cave where we spent a good few hours enjoying some photography of the cave.

After an evening of heavy rain we decided to scrap the plan to camp the last evening and made our way home, getting back around 1.30am.

Absolutely stunning is 2 words we'd use to describe this wild camping trip! Would 100% recommend this route to anyone wanting to do something similar, you wouldn't be disappointed!!!
