Thanks to all my regulars for staying with it! Here is the finale of the set. Not the massive technical fireworks that you get in the last of the Carcassi Op.60 but have a go at the high section.... not easy! The grand ending suggests that these were meant to be played as a complete set.
After the Sor 20 studies and the Carcassi 25 studies I asked you all what you'd like next... You asked me to record the set of 24 Giuliani etudes Op.48 so over the next few weeks I'll be uploading them all.
The full title of this work when it was first published in 1813 was "Exercise for the guitar, containing 24 pieces of the greatest difficulty, including various preludes, passaggi and solo pieces." Over 200 years later, by today's standards, I don't think one could describe these pieces as "of the greatest difficulty" although as you will hear there are some extremely difficult sections!
I would like to thank D'addario strings for their support. If you are curious I am using the Pro Arte medium tension EJ45.
The guitar that I am playing is my usual 2009 Jean Noel Rohe. (Strasbourg)
I hope that you enjoy hearing these studies, please subscribe, leave your comments and if you like it don't forget to give a thumbs up!
