The major endocrine glands are: the hypothalamus, the pituitary glands, the pineal gland, the thyroid gland, the parathyroid gland, the pancreas, the adrenal glands, and the gonads (testes in males and ovaries in females). The hormones they produce control everything from sleep, hunger and mood to reproduction and metabolism.
