Renaissance skin and the porous body conference
On 30 November and 1 December 2017, the Wellcome Trust-funded grant ‘Renaissance Skin’, led by Professor Evelyn Welch, held its first conference at King’s College London.
Featuring 18 speakers from Germany, Australia, and across the UK, plus two keynote lectures from Thomas W. Laqueur (Berkeley) and Anita Guerrini (Oregon), this conference considered the broad dimensions of porous bodies in the early modern period.
Watch Professor Welch discuss this and postdoctoral researchers Dr Hannah Murphy, Dr Kathleen Walker-Meikle, and Dr Paolo Savoia present their areas of research on the project.
