On failing to succeed... 2018 Connecticut Teacher of the Year, Erin Kathleen Berthold

2018 Connecticut Teacher of the Year Erin Kathleen Berthold shares an important lesson she learned as a student in high school chemistry, after having failed several tests. Yet her teacher pushed her to practice and help her until she mastered the material. He also taught her to value her own determination to succeed and valued her as a person—teaching her that 'failing' could lead to achievement fi she did not give up.

The ‘Lessons from Teachers of the Year’ series is a partnership between Google for Education and CCSSO that aims to elevate the teaching profession and capture the thinking of some of the United States’ best educators. See the full playlist at goo.gl/grYg2p
