surfskate pump / teaching a beginner how to pump

It's Maya's 4th time on the surfskate. I am introducing her slowly to the mechanics of pumping. The first 3 sessions she was still struggling just to stand on the board for more than 2 seconds. She has since made huge progress. she still struggles a bit and still getting comfortable standing and applying more pressure heelside but her progress is significant.
"throwing a heavy bucket of water" is what clicks more for her to grasp the pumping feel and it might be different for each one of us. Experiment with different analogies to see what works for you !
