Raw Plymouth Satellite with Blown 440 Big Block
Mike Clanton not only owns a Blown 440 Big Block powered Plymouth Satellite, but has a very inspiring story. Read here: http://bit.ly/BlownSatellite440
Long story short Mike has bought this Plymouth Satellite off his brother back in 1988 and transformed it into a Blown 440 Big Block powered brute. Acquiring the Mopar was a great decision of Mike as at the time he was dealing with a divorce and needed something to keep him out of the bars.
The Plymouth Satellite was originally a 318 muscle car, that Mike got for $1,800 with the intention to keep himself busy with rebuilding the motor. He got the bug and went to a local collage for advanced automotive to learn how to build engines and transmissions. Soon enough he ended up with a Blown 440 Big Block.
Mike built up the Blown 440 Big Block up to 1200 horsepower and was running consistent low 10-seconds on the quarter mile at almost 140mph with his 3,900lbs Plymouth Satellite. However, after burning up 3 transmissions in 1 year, Mike decided to get rid of the 8/71 Blower in order to spend more time at the track and less time in the shop working on his Mopar.
Currently the Plymouth Satellite is powered by the same 440 long block with 1050 carburetor on pump gas paired with CRT transmission with A&A parts steel drum and dressed with Edelbrock Victor heads, Wiseco blower piston, Callies H rods, eagle crank and Comp cam.
