1968 Plymouth Road Runner Drag Car 505 Wedge Motor
Keith Richards 1968 Plymouth Road Runner powered by a 505 Wedge motor is a great drag car with a cool story. Read more here: http://bit.ly/KeithRRwedge
Keith first saw this 1968 Plymouth Road Runner in the mid 80's when the Mopar was wearing Black paint and was raced at the Sears Point International Raceway. At the time he was racing a second generation Camaro, but about 10 years later when Keith was searching for a Mopar drag car, he came across this exact same '68 Road Runner.
He was told by a friend that there is a Black 1968 Plymouth Road Runner sitting in a barn for over 10 years, went to check it out and was pleasantly surprised to find the same Mopar he was admiring in the 80's at the strip. In fact, Keith bought the Road Runner from the same family who built and raced it back in the day.
Keith went through the motor, transmission, brakes, fuel lines and everything that needed to be fixed to make the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner safe for drag racing. He raced it exclusively until 2003 and then drove it on the street for a while as he bought a tube chassis '70 Challenger R/T. The current 505 Wedge motor was built by Keith in 2008 and is still running great.
In 2013 as Keith needed some space, he decided to sell the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner drag car. He found a buyer in Boston and they agreed if he ever decides to sell the Mopar to give Keith a call. The call came in September of 2019 and in December the '68 Road Runner was back home with new paint, few performance enhancements and ready for drag racing.
