Shoulderstand Cycle Tutorial (with the support of the wall)
This is a brief tutorial to explain how to do shoulderstand, plough and bridge pose with the support of the wall. This posture cycle can sometimes be difficult to feel supported and comfortable in. One way to make it more accessible, is to use a wall space and some props. If you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, want to improve your digestion, circulation and immune system or just need to calm your nervous system, Supported Shoulderstand (Salamba Sarvangasana) is considered the queen of all yoga poses.
It is important before attempting this pose cycle to warm up your muscles - especially your spine, hamstrings, shoulders and neck.
Whether you have a more established practice or you're newer to yoga, there are many benefits to incorporating shoulderstand flow into your regular yoga practice.
Props required: two blankets. Optional : Yoga Bolster
