Book vs. Movie: A Little Princess (1939, 1986, 1995)

In this reimagining of the classic rags-to-riches story, Frances Hodgson Burnett updated the themes and motifs from the Cinderella tale for her Victorian audience. A Little Princess (1905) was first adapted as a silent film in 1917, but we watched three sound film adaptations that approach the story in different ways.
