Room Remodeling - Step 2: French Door Installation

After Joe removed the hallway wall to the bedroom, Step 1 of our room remodeling project, we could instantly appreciate the expanded living space and window views of both the front and back yards from our dining room. We were excited about proceeding with Step 2, replacing the window with a custom French door. Like it was with the wall demolition, the most significant challenge Joe encountered after removing the window and expanding the opening was rerouting the AC wires, which had been awkwardly rerouted during an earlier remodel. One of the wires was spliced together in two places with wire nuts and no junction boxes! Joe determined the most efficient, safe and legal solution was to reroute the outlet wiring beneath the floor, requiring he enter the cramped crawlspace to run new wires. We also asked Joe to install an exterior outlet, porch light and switch for the small deck. As you can see from this video, Joe accomplished all that we asked for in just a day's time!
