1982, three years after the release of Edgar Froese's previous solo album, Virgin issued the compilation Solo 1974 - 1979. Some of the tracks had been remixed and re-recorded by Edgar Froese for this album, thus this compilation includes material not available on any other record.

Solo 1974 - 1979 has never been released on CD, but in 2012 at least some of the re-recorded and remixed tracks eventually became available on CD as part of the compilation box Solo (1974-1983) - The Virgin Years.
