Sonic Classic Heroes (Jan 2022 Ver.): Part 1: Green Hill Zone (Team Super Chaotix)

Team Sonic isn't the only team that this hack lets you play as. Its 2nd team is Team Chaotix!

Don't think of them as how they're portrayed in the real Sonic Heroes game, though. Vector, Espio, and Charmy take a lot more after their appearances and controls from Knuckles' Chaotix (which I have yet to actually feature on this channel as of this post). This hack takes them from that, and redesigns them a bit more to work with the Genesis Zones. They even have a few new sprites, such as victory animations and death sprites.

Most of their controls from Knuckles' Chaotix are back in this hack.

- Espio can scale walls and ceiling by just running on them.

- Vector can jump and Air Dash in all 8 directions. He can also climb walls with his hands if you dash him towards a surface. Lastly, like Knuckles, he will automatically smash through breakable walls, though Sonic 1 barely has any walls like this, and Sonic 2 doesn't have these kind of walls at all.

- Charmy is probably the most ridiculous character you can use in this hack. He can fly anywhere, and since he's a bee, he won't get tired of flying like Tails does. Just aim him at a direction to dash and then hold the button to make him float, then you can just aim him in any direction from there.

For some additional quirks with Charmy in this hack, he can Spin Attack, but you have to let him gain some speed on the ground. He CAN Spin Jump and Spin Dash, but ONLY while you're not using him. They only come out if he's following Vector or Espio.

This hack also isn't bias about transformations. If you can get all of the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic 1's Special Stages, and the Sol Emeralds from Sonic 2's Special Stages, you can give Team Chaotix their own Super and Hyper forms!

Even their Hyper forms have most of the same quirks as Team Sonic's, just translated through their own moves. Hyper Espio can shake the screen if you jump him towards a wall with enough speed. Hyper Vector can do the same with his dash to a wall, and Hyper Charmy has Hyper Sonic's Hyper Flash every single time he does a dash!

I will eventually get those Hyper forms permanently in a few more videos!

In short, this hack is still fun, and based on what I read before (and seeing what the SEGA splash screen shows), Team Sonic and Team Chaotix won't be the only two teams in this hack for long! More will eventually come should its developers have the time to implement them!

By the way, the song in the menu screen isn't actually in this hack. I got it from another interesting Sonic hack called Sonic & Ashuro. I might eventually feature that hack on here, too...
