AmScope IN480T-FL Lamp Centering

A brief demonstration of how to center the episcopic lamp on the IN480T-FL inverted fluorescence microscope.

1. Adjust the shutter board so the light can pass though.
2. Move the blue filter block into place.
3. Move the nose piece to an empty port.
4. Open up the illuminators diaphragm.
5. Place a piece of blank white paper on top of the stage.
6. Start the lamp and let it warm up for a few minutes.
7. Adjust the primary focus.
8. Sensor the direct light by using the adjustment knobs.
9. Adjust the reflective light so the two light sources overlap.
10. Done!

NOTE: Always be cautious when handling mercury-vapor bulbs. They get very hot, and require a ~10-minute warm-up/regulation period before activation, as well as a cool-down period.
