How to Unblock Number on Android Phone (Settings Tutorial)

You can unblock a number on your Android phone quickly through the Settings app by accessing the Call or Phone app settings and managing blocked numbers.

Step 1 — Open Settings or Phone App
Open the Settings app on your Android device. Alternatively, you can access the blocking settings through the Phone app (dialer) by tapping the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

Step 2 — Go to Blocked Numbers
In Settings:
Scroll down and select Connections or Network & Internet (varies by manufacturer).

Tap Call Settings or Calls.
Look for Blocked numbers or Call Blocking.
In Phone app:

Tap the three dots or menu button in the top corner.
Select Settings → Blocked numbers.

Step 3 — Find the Number to Unblock
You will see a list of all blocked numbers. Scroll through to locate the number you want to unblock.

Step 4 — Unblock the Number
Tap the x next to the blocked number, or select Unblock when prompted. Confirm if necessary. The number will now be allowed to call or message you.

Step 5 — Test the Unblock (Optional)
You can ask the contact to send a message or call to verify that the unblock was successful.

Notes
Steps may vary slightly depending on your Android version (e.g., Android 12 vs Android 13) or device manufacturer (Samsung, Google Pixel, LG, etc.).
Some Android devices also allow you to unblock numbers from the Messages app if the number was blocked for SMS.
