Lou Ferrigno talks about first movie role, Hercules, wife Carla chats about her newborn daughter

Lou Ferrigno is best known worldwide for his TV role as The Incredible Hulk. But Lou went on to build a career balancing TV and movie work with actively supporting the deaf community around the world.
Lou had lost around 80 percent of his hearing as three year old as the result of a series of ear infections.
Taunted and bullied in school, he took up body-building and went on to win Mr America, Mr Olympia and Mr Universe titles, along the way training with and competing against Arnold Schwarzenegger.
He also had a brief stint in Canadian grid-iron but quit after an opposing player broke his leg slamming into his massive 6ft 5inch, 285 pounds frame.
Lou has since wracked up more than 70 film and TV credits and is still taking roles in action movies. In between roles he did some law enforcement training to become a local sheriff in his community.
But back in 1983, I had the pleasure of interviewing Lou, and his wife Carla, with then baby Shanna, at the Cannes Film Festival where Lou was announcing the signing of playing the title role in the film Hercules opposite the gorgeous Sybil Danning.
Lou can currently be seen in the TV miniseries The Offer, and he will shortly appear in the horror-thriller film The Hermit.
Lou is a very fit 72 and continues to train on a regular basis.
Daughter Shanna is now 42 and an actress, writer and producer.
