3D Zoetrope – Real Time Stop Motion Machine

This 3D Zoetrope machine can play 3D-printed animations by spinning them on a disc in front of an array of LED strobe lights, making them look like they came to life.

WHAT IS A ZOETROPE - Zoetropes were invented back in the early 1800s, it was an early form of motion picture display, that consisted of a drum containing a set of still images, showing progressive phases of that motion.

When the drum was turned in a circular fashion, viewers would look through tiny openings, and see images dancing around before their eyes, which created the illusion of motion. The machine will offer interchangeable animation plates you can 3D Print like the fish-eating-fish and jumping frogs.
