Case Study: Weekly Report - Current Date Value vs End of Last Week - WEEKDAY & MOD DAX in Power BI

This case study covers creating this week vs last week reporting of measures in Power BI.

This requirement is to use Power BI to create a report that displays the current value of a measure vs. that measure's value at the end of last week. The example I cover in this video is a report of the number of maintenance work orders (backlog) today vs. the end of last week.

This process is a little bit more involved than it first seems. We want the date last week to be fixed as the date at the end of the week, not 7 days ago. In this example, the week end day is a Friday. In this solution, I use the WEEKDAY and MOD DAX functions to find the date at the end of last week and report that value in our table.
