Let's fix the random locking and unlocking of my green P38 doors. Also the tailgate button is only working intermittently. These are actually connected as the right front door provides the ground signal for the tailgate button to operate. We'll look at the wiring diagrams and troubleshoot our way to the actual fault in this case.
You'll get insight into removing a front door lock and how it works in details, both mechanically and electrically. We'll look at how super locking works and what happens when it's activated. Super locking is what Land Rover refers to as double-locking. Using the key (or remote) lock the car, then lock it once more within a short interval to super lock it. That way it can't be slim jim'ed, or lock picked.

I'll whip out the trusty old multimeter and the soldering iron to fix these electrical issues.
We'll see that the ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) has a typo and refers to two plugs (C1422 and C0441) where there is actually just one plug for the door lock actuator. The pin-numbering is off, but the wire colors are correct.

p.1 Not Used
p.2 Black
p.3 Pink / Black
p.4 Orange / Pink
p.5 Purple / White
p.6 Green / Red
p.7 Blue / Red (not used)
p.8 Orange / Black
To Door Lock

p.3 Green / Black
p.4 Pink
p.5 Purple
p.6 Not Used

Note! That unused pin is most likely the 3rd referred microswitch in the wiring diagram. However since this is a left-hand drive (LHD) car that 3rd microswitch is likely located on the drivers lock instead.
Microswitch 1 is for the central door locking (CDL) signal that tells the outstation if the car is locked or unlocked.
Microswitch 2 is used to detect if the key is inserted into the outside door lock. This is the one missing on my right side door lock since it's left-hand drive. And it's most likely what the blue / red wire that was unused is intended for.
Microswitch 3 is for the door ajar signal letting the outstation know when the door is properly closed or open (to enable ie. interior lights and instrument cluster warning signal).

Interior roof lights use SV8.5 bulbs.
Tailgate interior light is BA15s.
Front roof spot bulbs are T10 (lift down the whole console from the roof to replace them).
