Jan Palach Square (Náměstí Jana Palacha) is a town square in the Old Town of Prague. It is located on the right bank of the Vltava River, after the former Jewish Quarter. The western side of the square is adjacent to the Vltava River. The Mánes Bridge (1911–1916) connects Jan Palach Square to Malá Strana (Lesser Town) on the opposite bank. This side of the square also offers a good view of Prague Castle, Petřín Hill, and Charles Bridge. There is the Neo-Renaissance Rudolfinum Concert Hall (1876–1884) on the north. The building on the eastern side (1924–1930) houses the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, and the building on the southern side (1885) belongs to the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design (Czech: Vysoká škola umělecko-průmyslová). There is an oversized underground parking garage under the square, with surface structures of this facility slightly disturbing the overall impression of the square. Monuments to two personalities of Czech culture are situated here—a statue of composer Antonín Dvořák in front of Rudolfinum and a statue of painter Josef Mánes closer to the river. The last name of the square, used through the communist era, was the Square of Red Army Soldiers (Náměstí Krasnoarmějců) from the year 1948, commemorating Soviet soldiers killed during their liberation of Prague in May 1945. Before this, the name was Rejdiště after riding hall standing in the place. The current name was introduced briefly in 1969–1970 and was made permanent on 20 December 1989 after the Velvet Revolution. It commemorates Jan Palach, a student who immolated himself on 16 January 1969 to protest against the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia.

Pařížská Street traverses the Jewish Town of Prague, connecting Old Town Square with Čechův Bridge. It is lined with stately townhouses whose façades combine historicist features with the decorative detail of Art Nouveau. Pařížská Street in Prague is the most prestigious boulevard, home to a wide range of luxury boutiques representing the world's most prominent fashion brands.

The Old Town Square is the oldest and most important square in historical Prague. It is surrounded by historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history. It has been a center of Prague's Old Town since the middle ages when it was a marketplace crossing European merchants' roads. The first houses were built around the Old Town Square in the 12 and 13 centuries. Some present homes still have Romanesque or Gothic foundations, basements, or ground floors. The Old Town City Hall was built in the 14 century and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn a little later. The Old Town Square became Prague Old Town's economic and political center.

Dlouhá is a street in Prague's Old Town in the Prague 1 district, connecting Old Town Square and Revoluční Street. The street runs from Old Town Square in a north-easterly direction, turns in an arc to the east, parallel to the Vltava, and flows vertically into Revoluční street. Historically, one of the most critical trade routes has been running here since the formation of the settlement around Old Town Square, which continued through the German merchant settlement in the Petrská čtvrt area (around Petrské náměstí) to the ford near Štvanice and further, where it connected Prague with Pojizeří and Eastern Bohemia. Today, its economic and transport importance is somewhat secondary, but many good restaurants and cafes are located here.
