Singapore's Overlooked Bites

Introducing five delicious, lesser-known dishes from the Lion City.
1. Kaya toast is either steamed or toasted, then slathered with a delicious kaya spread which consists of coconut, cream, sugar, egg yolk, and pandan leaf.
2. Nasi Lemak is classic comfort food that can be customized but typically consists of a fish cake, deep-fried peanuts, sambal chili, and other goodies wrapped in a pandan leaf.
3. Barbecue sambal stingray is one of Singapore's national dishes, and for local food expert KF Seetoh's opinion, it beats out the famous chili crab.
4. Nyonya Laksa is a coconutty, creamy dream.
5. And pepper crab is a combustion of several kinds of pepper sprinkled on crabs.
