Johnny Gill spoke about his journey in the music industry, from launching a solo career, to joining established groups, and experiencing the nuances of the industry. His second album reached number six on the Billboard charts, going double platinum. Gill also discussed his time with the band New Edition, including their seventh album being created under Puffy's direction at Bad Boy Records. He revealed that the album-making process was not smooth as disagreements ensued over respect and treatment. Despite the internal turmoil, Gill acknowledged the value of Puffy providing an opportunity for New Edition when they were in a difficult situation with their previous label, MCA. Although the collaboration proved challenging, Gill expressed gratitude for the platform and experience.
