Fighting Other Players Instead of CPUs For Once

After years of mostly fighting CPU opponents in Smash, I decided to try Online Smash for once.
Now, I expected this to be bad, because these are actual human players, and also I haven't played Smash in months (with the exception of Brawl Subspace and Classic Mode). But I had no idea how bad this was going to be! A couple times I got 3-stocked, so many times my opponent beat me with 2 stocks remaining, so many times I took the lead in the start but threw away the match anyway! Worst offenders were the Terry fight and the Falco fight. My best fights were against the Greninja player. We both played pretty well. The Greninja player won the first round and I won the second round. In the third round, I ruined the whole thing by offstage suicide, and I wasn't good enough to make up for it.
I've been playing this godforsaken series (that's Smash Bros.) since the Brawl days, and I'm afraid that I've not improved at all, and this footage is demonstrable evidence. I wonder if I should just retire.
