Watch Me Design a Logo for a Home Decor & Lifestyle Blog

In this video I am going through the process of starting a new brand identity project. The new project is called "Holly & Pine" and they are a home decor and lifestyle blog offering their viewers tips and inspiration on achieving rustic but elegant and modern looking homes.
I talk little bit about what I do to prepare myself for the actual logo design part of the process. I start with a brand questionnaire and then I start doing some research and create a secret Pinterest board to hold all of my inspiration images for this brand.
When I start sketching some concepts out, I like to write down key words that stood out to me in the brief as aspects that I want to keep in mind while coming up with a logo design concept.
Since I don't usually have a scanner to use, I take a photo of my sketch pages and then AirDrop them to my computer to be able to place them in my Illustrator program. From there, I just start tracing and re-creating my sketches as best as I can.
Once I have re-created some of my sketched in Illustrator, then I start exploring typography. From there, it's just a matter of piecing together type with the icons marks to complete the logo design concepts.
