How termites can damage electrical cables

I spent numerous visits to this home trying to find out why there circuits were tripping ? It drove me insane! I checked all the usual suspects (faulty RCD's, faulty appliances, overloading, visually checking and even blamed a nest of possums which i caught one). However the circuit kept tripping intermittently??? but of course never when I was there.... then one day the owner decided to build on a new extension and look what we found. Termites are absolutely brilliant at hiding their carpentry work.
