How to Prevent Stringy Curls when Styling | #shorts #curlyhairproblems

Do you prefer clumped curls are more of a separated look? 🤔

Some people naturally have smaller curl clumps, and that's total fine. Stringiness, however, can be frizzy, dry, and the curls don't hold up well after wash day.
For my curls, I like clumps but not too large of clumps since I have low-density hair.

👉Here are some ways you can prevent stringy curls when styling:

1. Ensure your hair is evenly wet. I towel-dry my hair, then mist it and comb through it.
2. Apply a curl cream to moisturizing and encourage clumping. When curls are not moisturized enough, they will not form into clumps.
3. Section hair and apply a strong hold gel. Light hold gels don't hold clumps for long and you can end up with frizzy hair by day 2.
4. Use a brush (or your hands) and apply light pressure to vertical sections. You can just focus on problem areas or face-framing pieces if you don't want to brush style your whole head.
5. Scrunch with a hair towel and then diffuse. Diffusing will help to set the curl clumps in place and prevent frizz.
