Transform balsamic vinegar into a sweet/savoury glaze, perfect as a sauce or garnish for many vegan dishes. Extremely easy to make and flavour - see the recipe notes for different flavour variations!
Ingredients:
1 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/4 cup Apple Juice
Description:
Add ingredients to a medium saucepan. Over medium - high heat, bring to a light boil.
Reduce the heat and let simmer until the mixture has reduced by about 1/3.
Remove from heat and let cool at room temperature. Transfer to an air tight container and refrigerate. Note: the mixture will thicken more as it cools in the refrigerator.
Variations: Sub 1/4 cup of Apple Juice for: Maple Balsamic (1/4 cup Maple Syrup), Balsamic & Brown Sugar (2 tbsp Brown Sugar), Cranberry and Orange (1/4 cup Orange Juice, 2 tbsp Crushed Dried Cranberries) Espresso (1/4 cup Espresso), Caramelized Onion (Caramelize 1/2 a Medium Onion in the pan, add Balsamic Vinegar, Reduce, Strain)
