Hiking in Italy: Abruzzo, Vado di Sole to the ridge of the Gran Sasso Mountains!

A few weeks ago lock down restrictions were finally lifted and we were able to leave the administrative area for the first time in months. We took the opportunity to do a walk that we had been thinking about for a couple of years and had not actually got round to doing.

It was a beautiful, crisp day and although the walk was tough and felt endless at certain points, it was worth the climb...the views were spectacular and you could see as far as, what felt like, the ends of the earth...

But halfway down Jon realized he'd left his sunglasses at the top!! 😫
