How to Start a Music Channel on YouTube For Total Beginners
Faced with the fallout of no live gigs or music events during the pandemic, fiddle player Chris Haigh has made good use of the enforced downtime by starting a YouTube Channel from scratch. Over the last 9 months he has regularly put out three fiddle tutorial videos a week and watched his subscriber base increase from zero to thousands. and growing.
How has he done it?
A self-confessed non-techie, Chris has grown his channel on a very tight budget using inexpensive equipment and mostly free software. The key factor in his success is the constant stream of super high-quality content.
In this interview he talked to me about how he creates his videos - and we also covered some of his other online music creation projects that have kept him busy and add to his income stream.
Musicians! If you want to embark on a similar journey you will find Chris's YouTube tips really helpful and encouraging.
Violinists and fiddle players! Do go and check out Chris's channel and website. Whatever genre you are into, he will have a video, book or web page that will interest and educate you.
