What’s the difference between Facebook Ads and Google Ads? Which one should you use for your Ecommerce store? It really depends on your own store, your niche, and the products you're selling.
With the different advertising platforms available in the market today, finding the best one could be a challenge. So in this video, I’m going to help you figure it out for your own store.
So which is better, Facebook Ads or Google Ads?
Google Ads works really well if people are going to Google and searching for what you sell. Facebook is great when you want to show off your product visually and you know who you’re selling to.
Google Ads
Google is such an underrated platform for Ecommerce and very few store owners are using it to its full potential. A lot of people obsess over Facebook because that’s what the gurus teach in their dropshipping courses. But my clients and I are over here on Google, getting SUPER CHEAP clicks and making tons of profits!
Google is fantastic because you are targeting people with high buying intent. Remember that customers go to Google with a clear mission: they want something! They could be looking for directions or a restaurant they want to try, or find products that they need.
Google is like Amazon, except that you have way more control over your brand using this platform. .
Facebook Ads
Facebook is awesome because millions of people are using this platform and you can get super granular with your targeting. With Facebook, you can target people that are in your target market but they don't even know your product exists yet.
This means you can often show your product to people that don't even know they want it and then you show it to them and they come and buy it. It’s a very visual platform and you need to make sure you have great creatives that are engaging.
But the downside when using Facebook is that you could be "disrupting" users that are chilling on their feed. They’re scrolling through, checking out memes and content they like, then your ads somehow managed to show in their feed to entice them to purchase. It’s disruptive advertising.
Combining Both Advertising Strategies
Google and Facebook feed into each other really well. For example, starting with Google and Google Shopping, you can get some great initial targeted traffic that results in immediate customers. They go through your funnel, purchase your products and end up on your email list.
You can also build up your customer base from Google and then turn to Facebook to run lookalike campaigns. This means you use the search intent traffic from Google to find your ideal customers and then take that to Facebook. It’s an incredible strategy and I’ve seen it work beautifully with a tonne of different stores.
Both Google and Facebook are amazing platforms for your Ecommerce store. You just have to test, test, and test what works best for your store.
