In this lecture Dr. Vandana Shiva is interviewed by Prof. Dr. Silja Graupe and speaks amongst other things about the situation of India during the corona-crisis, the central role of local political activism and the importance of the power of imagination to build a sustainable future.

Dr. Vandana Shiva is a globally known advocate for women’s rights and grassroot environmentalism, a public intellectual and author of numerous books. In 1993 she received the Right Livelihood Award “for placing women and ecology at the heart of modern development discourse”, also known as the ‘Alternative Nobel Prize’.

Since its independent foundation five years ago The Cusanus Hochschule provides academic contributions for a sustainable, social und ecological economy and society.
