122m / 400ft Foolproof Equalization Method (Learned Through Journaling)

Journaling 2.0: How I Developed a Foolproof Equalization Profile to 122m

In a previous video, I introduced the concept of journaling and why not doing it might be holding you back in freediving. But what I didn’t share—until now—is the exact process that helped me develop a foolproof equalization profile all the way to 122 meters (400ft).

This isn’t just theory. It’s something I uncovered through consistent journaling, analyzing dive watch data, and training my subconscious over time.

What You’ll Learn in This Video:

✔️ How I broke down my dives second-by-second using dive watch data
✔️ The difference between what I remembered, what I thought I remembered, and what I believed was happening
✔️ How I started predicting equalization patterns without ever consciously counting
✔️ How journaling trained my subconscious to start paying attention
✔️ The exact equalization strategy that now works for me every time

Eventually, I realized I could use what I call passive pressure (commonly referred to as “constant pressure”) to navigate from 30m to 60m. But through trial, error, and reflection, I discovered that my most optimal equalization pattern was:

→ Passive pressure from 30m to 45m
→ One Frenzel at 45m
→ Passive again to 60m
→ Equalizations at 75m and 80m
→ Then a relaxed float to the bottom

This insight wasn’t the result of a coach, a course, or a hack—it came from documenting, reflecting, and connecting dots over time.
