If you’re a new or relatively new coach looking for an easy discovery call script that works, then this video is for you. You see, years ago when I did my very first sales call, I had no sales experience. And with not many other coaches out there who I could emulate, I had to basically just write down all of the questions that I thought I should ask a potential client.

Now, years later, I’ve helped thousands of people with their own discovery and sales calls, and I’d like to share some of what I’ve learned with you.

One thing that’s very important to me is making sure that the decision to work with a client is mutual. That means that, rather than try to “sell” the client or be pushy, I try to figure out if we would truly be a good fit for one another.

The first thing I want to do in a discovery call is understand why they want to work with me. Coaching is an intimate relationship, and I don’t want to just work with anyone.

Once they’ve finished explaining why they’ve come to me, I ask them about the results they want. This is important because part of the call involves you mapping out exactly how you’re going to be able to help them.

When making an effective discovery call, you’re not actually trying to persuade your client. What you’re doing is helping them think through their objections for themselves so that they can make an honest determination about whether or not they should work with you. If you’re clear about how you can serve your potential client, and if you ask the right questions, you’ll be able to help more people get better results.
