WHITE-EYED PARAKEETS!

White-eyed Parakeets are an exotic species in South Florida, native to a large part of South America. This species was not too uncommon in the cagebird trade. Birds in captivity have escaped their cages in large enough numbers to become established in South Florida’s semitropical urban environment. The exotic plantings in the huge areas of the urban environment have made it conducive for many, many exotic species. The list of exotic species of every kind in South Florida is HUGE! I guess there is no turning back as things have changed tremendously.
