Apiário Serra da Bodoquena (Serra da Bodoquena Apiary) got its name for having started in the mountainous region that divides the plateau and the Pantanal. This was one of the first apiaries to become “Giant Armadillo-Friendly” certified through an initiative of the Armadillos and Honey Project, a project which studies and proposes solutions to promote peaceful coexistence between beekeepers and giant armadillos in the Cerrado of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, ensuring the necessary protection of beehives and wildlife.
