BHF Live & Ticking September 2022 – Regenerative Medicine

Our online series of Live & Ticking events keep you updated with the latest BHF science taking place across the UK.

In this edition, we delve into BHF-funded science focusing on Regenerative Medicine.

Event speakers:

Fearghal McKinney – Head of BHF Northern Ireland hosts by highlighting some of the BHF’s latest work taking place across the UK and poses live viewer questions to our panel of experts.

Vicky Small – Born with a hole in the heart and later diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, Vicky talks about her emotional and physical journey, and how vital research into repairing damaged heart muscle in the future can save many lives like hers.

Ruth Huntman – BHF Senior Heart Story Media Officer helps to navigate through Vicky’s story.

Professor Paul Riley - Director of the Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine at University of Oxford discusses how his team are studying cardiovascular development and how the heart forms during pregnancy, and how they can use this information to investigate how the heart can be repaired after a heart attack.
