Growing Up Goth In 2000: First Times, Mistakes, & No Rules At All!

A big nostalgia-trip, since I've been going through so many old pictures lately! This was a nice change of pace - I love revisiting old memories; it is truly startling to me how suddenly & completely the goth scene seems to have evaporated in the last 6ish years - it seemed such a permanent thing to me when I started out; it had been running since the '80s, since just before I was *born*, & though the trad goths were already bemoaning the 'death of the scene' as things slid further towards EBM/futurepop & away from trad, I didn't mind the mixture, & as far as I could see things were booming, so they always would be. Wherever you went, be it a city or a small town, you'd pass a pack of teenage goths somewhere, decked out in trenchcoats, heavy collars, bad eyeliner, & I'd always try not to stare, to look like I'd seen it all before & Wasn't Impressed At All, lol, but these days those tribal sighting just don't happen, & I stare like hell whenever I encounter a lone residual trench-coated goth out and about, because it's so wonderful to see one in the wild at all now :-/

Anyway, if you made it to the end of this video, & are intrigued by trying a hypnosis wander round your own brain, memories & imagination, search YouTube for 'Michael Sealey hypnosis' - I first discovered the lucid dreaming one, but that inevitably sends me to sleep, so the 'past life regression' one has been the most fun so far - can't say I've seen any past lives, but I did get a really intriguing reverse slideshow of childhood memories, getting younger & younger, on one occasion, which was fascinating. Generally speaking though, when he gets to that bit about the circles on the beach, when I find I can really SEE that beach, & find the sand under my feet is getting insanely tactile & real, that's the point I start ignoring his instructions & just go off on my own adventures :3 Have fun, & tell me about it if your brain throws up some beautiful madness! :D /And don't give up if you fall asleep the first time - I've discovered so far that there seem to be 3 very distinct levels of trance you can fall into, each with their own characteristics & purposes, which is something I'll have to chat about sometime, but visual exploration level trance is best achieved when you *aren't* really tired as you begin. You need to be calm enough to stay the feck still & listen, lol, but exhaustion just equals falling asleep XD Hypnosis does work best though when you *nearly* fall asleep during the periods of quiet music, then as he starts speaking again it kinda jolts you alert, so you're just edging between sleep & consciousness - it's an interesting zone!/
