Quake II | Unit 3: Jail - Nightmare 100%
A playthrough of Quake II on Nightmare, getting all kills and secrets. Played on Yamagi sourceport.
Here's where stroggs keep humans to torture them and later turn into other stroggs. Happy times.
Designed by Tim Willits with a guest appearance of Christian Antkow on Torture Chambers. We get introduced to a lot of different enemies: the Tank, which is a giant bulletsponge that mostly does nothing; Medic, who apparently can revive non-gibbed corpses but so far I haven't seen him doing that; Gladiator with a railgun arm that can be melee-locked like the Shambler from the first Quake and Mutants, who only appear in one other unit and are basically weaker Fiends from Quake 1.
We also get our hands on some better weaponry like the Hyperblaster, which is this game's version of the plasma gun. It deals a lot of damage, but enemies will try to duck under it's projectiles.
Oh yeah, there's also the weakest grenade launcher in videogame history, you won't see much of it.
Our ammo is increased by half by picking up 2 bandoliers. Interestingly enough the bandoliers do not increase the amount of carried rockets and grenades.
Guard House level uses a track called "Big Gun", but the level called Big Gun doesn't use that track. Interesting. Also, "Big Gun" is based on "Junkhead" by Alice in Chains which is my favorite band of all time and that makes this game's soundtrack 10x better.
