Chordplay - The Chords Of Skid Row

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Skid Row. Skid Row formed in New Jersey in 1986 and went on to become one of the most popular hard rock bands of the late 1980s/early 1990s. I've had a few requests to feature some of their music on the channel - so here we go!

The chord-based ideas in this lesson feature plenty of aggression, conviction, and a sharp pick attack mixed with a handful of pinch harmonics sprinkled throughout. Needless to say, Skid Row always perform with tons of authority and conviction and this look at some of their classic material really helps to drive that fact home. From crunchy power chords and riffs, squealing pinch harmonics, shimmering clean chords, and much more - these guys totally delivered in their heyday.

The song examples in this lesson feature a number of hits from their first album such as 'Youth Gone Wild,' '18 And Life,' 'Rattlesnake Shake' and more, along with a few classic tracks from their second album Slave To The Grind with songs such as 'Monkey Business' and 'Quicksand Jesus' (to name a few).
