This talk was given at a local TEDxSnoIsleLibraries event and produced independently of the TED Conferences. Terry Thoren is an animation executive who believes animated characters can be a force for good in the development of children.

Terry is chief executive officer of Wonder Media, a mission-driven company that produces multimedia content for any child at risk of falling behind before third grade. It is the latest in a long list of film, Web, software and animation companies that he founded and/or directed, all focused on family-friendly entertainment or educational materials.
