My Favorite Gold Royalty Stocks (2020)

In this video, I discuss gold royalty and streaming companies, especially my 3 favorites: Royal Gold (RGLD), Osisko Gold Royalties (OR), and Sandstorm Gold (SAND).

I am very bullish on the price of gold due to central bank inflationary monetary policy, and I think that the gold royalty companies are a great way to play this macro view.

Gold royalty and streaming companies are not burdened by mining costs, safety and labor issues, or environmental regulations. They are specialty finance companies that get a stream of future royalties in exchange for an initial payment that helps a gold miner to finance mine development.

When picking these 3 stocks to invest in, I emphasized overall exposure to gold (vs other metals or energies), as well as net smelter royalties (NSR), since these will benefit more from a rapidly appreciating gold price than will streaming agreements, where one only gets to buy gold at a fixed margin below its spot price.
